The WWF UAE Project Office was established in February 2001. Although it was the first WWF office to be set up in the Middle East, WWF’s association with the region can be traced back to the early 1960s where WWF helped establish the 'Arabian Oryx World Herd,' which succeeded in breeding the Oryx in captivity and returning them to reserves in Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Oman. Thanks to 'Operation Oryx' the Arabian Oryx was saved from extinction. Take action as an individual and become a volunteer!

Volunteering your time to assist any non-profit aid organisation is the most rewarding way to give back to society. Relief and Aid Organisations rely on volunteers to keep overheads at a minimum, thus ensuring that every penny possible goes to those who need it. Volunteer in Abu Dhabi is aimed at bringing together any organisation, good cause or individual effort in the UAE, with people willing to help out. Even if only for one hour and even if it is infrequent... it makes an enormous difference. To lend any of the organizations in Abu Dhabi a hand, please join this group on facebook and watch out for postings and emails requesting assistance.
