Copy of the Birth Certificate

Birth certificates must be provided in English or Arabic. Birth certificates in any other language must be translated in the UAE by an approved legal translation office. Both the original birth certificate and the translation must be provided.

In Arabic (UAE)

Copy is sufficient.
In Arabic (from other countries) Copy should be attested by the UAE Embassy in the country of birth, or by the Embassy representing the country of birth in the UAE, or by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the UAE.
In English If your child’s birth certificate is in English from either Canada (except Quebec), United States, Western Europe (UK, France, The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, Sweden, Austria, Portugal, Spain, Greece, Vatican City, San Marino, Monaco, Andorra, Liechtenstein, Malta) Australia and New Zealand then no translation or attestation is necessary.
In Turkish  If the Turkish birth certificate from the hospital does not have your child’s name on it, you will need to have your child’s ID card as well. These papers will both need to be attested in the following order: Attested by the UAE Embassy in Turkey Attested by the Turkish Embassy in the UAE Attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the UAE. As there is no legal Turkish to Arabic translator in the UAE, you will need to have the Turkish Embassy in Abu Dhabi create an official Turkish to English or Turkish to Arabic translation for you. This translation needs to be attested in the following order: Attested by the Turkish Embassy in the UAE Attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the UAE.
In other Languages  If your child’s birth certificate is from any other country (including South & Central America, Eastern Europe, Asia or Africa), and/or is not in English, it must be attested and translated in the following order: Attested by the UAE Embassy in the country of birth. Attested by the Embassy representing the country of birth in the UAE. Attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the UAE. It must then be translated IN THE UAE by a Ministry approved legal translator, for example:

Transfer Certificate Information

All students in Grades 2 and above must submit a Transfer Certificate before enrolment. Without it, your child’s start date will be delayed as this is a Ministry of Education requirement.

What is a Transfer Certificate (TC)?

A TC is not the same as a school record or school transcript. A TC should clearly state to which grade a student was promoted at the end of the previous year or the grade in which the student is currently enrolled (if enrolling mid-year). Transfer Certificates must be in English or Arabic and must display an official school stamp.

Who needs a Transfer Certificate?

All students in Grades 2 onward require a TC. Students in KG1, KG2 and Grade 1 only require a TC if they enroll after November (mid-year enrolment).

Why do we need a Transfer Certificate?

The Ministry of Education in Abu Dhabi requires that each student from Grade 2 and above submits a TC as well as a UAE residence visa for registration. When a student enrolls after November (mid-year enrollment), they can only be admitted if they are coming the same curriculum, with a TC. Residence visas must be submitted as soon as they are completed.
